Precast Decks

This method consists of the prefabrication of the deck in a factory, where structural elements are produced in segments whose length corresponds to a full bridge span. These elements are manufactured with precision under controlled conditions, ensuring a high-quality finish as well as stricter construction control.

Once manufactured, the segments are transported to the construction site using specialised vehicles. They are then positioned in their final location using heavy-duty cranes or launching equipment specifically designed for this type of operation.

This method offers several significant advantages, such as reducing on-site construction time, minimising disruptions to traffic and the surrounding environment, and improving worker safety, as many operations are carried out under more controlled conditions off-site. Furthermore, prefabrication allows for greater repeatability and standardisation, which can result in cost reduction and a more efficient project execution.
