Form travelers are used in the construction of bridge decks cast in situ through the balanced cantilever method. The construction process essentially consists of the symmetrical execution of segments measuring 3 to 6 meters in length, starting from the piers. After the concreting of one segment, the form travelers advance along rails to cast the following segment, being supported by the previously constructed segment. The formwork is suspended from the form traveler structure by means of high-strength bars.
